Now and again someone says something out of the blue that just makes you feel you are on the right path. :) A good friend and fellow artist, Jilly Chan wrote an entry in her journal.
This is neither ment to be praise, nor 'whoring, but there are quite a few people on DA that I admire for their talent, their strength, their integrity, and their general decency. I will list these people of whom I speak and why they are so dear to me.
and about me she wrote:
Because he is one of the last true spirits. He cares nothing of the beligerance others throw at him. He stays true to his craft and his heart, and for that he is loved.
and that just cheers the heck out of me. :)

"Dawn's Light"
Breaking the bonds of sleep, arises the sun,do we greet the day, celebrate the awaking life,Or morn the death of night, the loss of dreams,Does the light bring us joy and open new life to us,Does the dark hold us and cradle us.Each moment a passage from aspect to aspect, following the journey of seasons, cycles, time.Dance with me the joy of your life in the brilliance of the day,Whisper to me the secrets of the night and the mysteries of your dreams.

"Lady in the Light"
Arising from the very rocks of the Mother's bones,
the spirit of the forest touches the light,
Opens Herself to the nurturing sun,
the canopy of the trees reaching for the joy,
Greenmother, Dryad, unseen by blind eyes,
the spirit lives, the mountains resist the hand of man,
the sacred held in rocky hands, to be found by pure hearts.
Dancer in the forest, spirit of the womans heart,
the Mother is the source and life of us,
Breathing for us the trees provide,
Memory in heartwood, root and leaf,
sharing to those that will listen, stories more ancient than any man,
Goddess lives, not in death or torment, but in celebration and life.
The keeper is in the stone, the rock, the deep waters within the earth.
Look for Her within your self, find the light that nourishes you.

The story.... For a number of reasons, one being that I need to have some medical and dental work done under my medicad and the nearest available resources were in Asheville and Georgia, I needed to move. My connections with people in the area I was living had atrophied, and I found myself more and more alone, which as I grow older, is not a really good thing. I am not fond of the idea of something happening and being discovered as a body a few weeks later. Not that I care much for western medicine either, but good resources for healthy living were not very available to me in Franklin. And with the cost of fuel escalating, I was totally unable to afford to be running back and forth to Asheville for medical work.
Add to that the fact the trailer I was living in was falling apart, and there was very little interest in the landlord to do any repairs or replacements, and it simply was time to find another space. Spirit in its wisdom provided such, and from experience, when such a journey is offered, it is better to accept it. My friend Dawn, who has been in a number of my better works, has a quite nice house she bought, and her present relationship is changing, so she has a need for a room mate, renter, what have you, to pay the mortgage and all that. The two situations dovetailed nicely. I know her, have worked with her, and most importantly she is a eco aware naturian, so it is safe for me to live in her house, no toxins of the sort that would make such a space unliveable for me.
And it has certain journey connections, as I am very near the area Sil and I used to come over for her medical when we were up on the mountain property. The Biltmore Forest area is reasonably quiet and I have a rather nice space to live in.
Ah, the crows you ask. yes, well. The day of my beginning my move, the 30th, since I could not do anything at all until I got my pension check, there were three enormous crows dancing right outside my door, and when I get a chance to go get the film processed, I will post a photo of them. Crows are the magic carriers of the people, and such a dance is one of great power. The first trip here to the new place, I opened the car door, stepped out and picked up a large black crow feather from the ground. Each morning I have been here, the crows have woken me with their calls. Definitely, a crow journey.
It took me until the 5th to get it all moved, and 7 trips between Franklin and Asheville. Needless to say, I am exhausted, though recovering and it consumed all the resources financially I had. But, I am here, I have one of my computers back online, and I am slowly getting settled. And I have a lovely kitchen to use, a bathroom that actually works and is comfortable, a lovely pine tree just outside my window, a lovely old home to live in, a garden space, two apple and one pear trees, and a city to explore. Earthfare, an organic supermarket is only a few minutes and life will be good I think. It is nice to be able to live as a civilized being again, not have to wash clothes by hand, constantly battling the carpenter ants and the mice that were swarming in the trailer and actually get some sleep without the hounds next door waking me. All in all, a very good move, and one only spirit could have managed. Photos will follow in a bit.

A Three Crow Journey - Story to come.
Skydancer's Quote of the moment. - It is the capacity to feel, to express, to suffer, that makes us artists. It is the spark of the immortal that makes us beautiful. It is the spirit of the many worlds that makes us real. © 2004 Marion Z. Skydancer
