"The Death of Pumpkin Jack" my halloween art piece.
Samhain, All Hallows, Halloween... the first cycle and the last cycle... this is the ending and the beginning of the ancient year wheel. A time to say goodbye to the souls that have passed in the year before, to find a final goodbye to the journeys finished, the parts of our lives we have set aside or moved beyond. In the Mirror of Time, I cast the pool of what was.. and finding there the images of those things that still tangle my life.. I reach into the waters and catch the threads... and .... I release them. I accept the sorrow.. and the joy. The pain and anguish. And the warm sunshine and love of my friends and relations. and I let it become what it needs to be, the journey that was, and turn my face to the journey that is. As the waters of the pool drip through my fingers, I release all that was that tangles my soul, and find new threads and new visions, and I walk away free to share and love, and be.
Blessed Samhain to all of you, and may the Wheel of the Year turn in your favor and bring you all the blessings and joys you wish, but more importantly, may your way bring you that which you truly need.

A Samhain Musing
opening dark, the voices speak, silent I hear them, and I move on my path, walking between the stones, the graves, the velvet leaves touching, swirling, brushing my naked feet. I look out across those dreams that lay buried, forgotten, but part of me. The unrealized, the love not drank from, the warmth shared, but lost.
Can I be? Is it possible to become the vision of that so long ago, a small child, frightened in the night of dreams that I stand in now? How could I know then that I would be here? But I did. I did.
the journey continues, and the children of my spirit flow out from me, into the worlds, the weave, the places between the worlds. and others find them, eat them, adopt them, become them. Perhaps this is what the journey means.. not to one, but to the many is my heart and soul meat and drink to.. perhaps this is the purpose of this path.. to feed the dreams, and yet, to break the dreams, and put new ones in their place. To bring the ending to a new place older than man, and return the golden life to the Mother's mouth, to be born in endless cycle, and not eaten by the cold skygods of madness..
Blessed Samhain to all of you, and may the Wheel of the Year turn in your favor and bring you all the blessings and joys you wish, but more importantly, may your way bring you that which you truly need.

I am very much a person that does not believe in chainletters, be they paper, or email. And I still hold to that very strongly. However, when a truly good thought comes along.. I do believe in sharing it. and so.. I will.
Instructions for Life in the new millennium from the Dalai Lama:
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve
great risk.
2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs: Respect for self, respect for others and
responsibility for all your actions.
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful
stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to
correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think
back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current
situation. Don't bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go some place you've never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love
for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

pancake artistry... I rather like pancakes, or griddle cakes as some might call them. They are quite simple, and can be an infinity of variety. Having some squash I got actually for some photographic work, I have been cooking them and experimenting... this morning, I made breakfast, well, brunch actually, and whipped up some very nice squash pancakes.. simple really... a cup of milk, one egg, a handfull of the squash, mushed up and whipped into the mix, a little chunky but that makes the texture of the cakes better.. :)
a healthy blast of cinnamon, and I happened to add a little pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of salt, and a few tablespoons of brown sugar.. You could easily substitute Stevia for the sugar.. I just felt like sugar today..
add enough flour to make it a good batter... I happened to have some self rising on hand so I used that, but you could easily use regular flower, or brown rice flower and a teaspoon of baking powder for a nice fluffy cake. Was very very tasty... and I finally got around to using my cast iron skillet I got my hands on that I have been avoiding using for some reason..
you do have to really watch the heat... finding that perfect temp is a job, but once you do, the cast iron holds the heat nice and evenly and does a wonderful job.. I used peanut oil in these because it can stand higher temperatures and does not flavor the food.
so.. that was breakfast.. {large smile}

many folk have empty souls that they try so hard to fill and will drink from any glass to wash their hollow hearts with the darkness of their own minds.

A friend is having a bit of a problem with her art, her work, much of which is self expressions, self portraits and such.. in that other so called 'artists' are abusing her, and tearing down her work.. it occurs to me, that a true artist, is so filled with their art, the passion and the fires of their creations.. there is no room for such envy, jealousy and hatred.. so it seems to be in my knowledge that it is only those that truly burn with their art, that become the targets and the envy of the empty souls that are cold within and have no fires of their own, nor even the slightest fuel that might be sparked into flame, but rather are icy voids, empty of all but their own self loathing and hatred.. for it is not you they hate, but truly, it is themselves and the emptyness within that they fear so greatly.
if it makes no sense to you.. that is ok... it does to me.. :)
if it makes no sense to you.. that is ok... it does to me.. :)
I do not do these "quizz" things.. but I got talked into doing one by a friend on Deviant Art.. so since I went through all the effort to fill it out.. I figured I would capture the results for posterity or a good laugh.. :) I will let those that actually know me decide if any of it fits... :D
this came from an odd sort of site called emode.com just for proper credit.. or whatever.. it is supposed to be "What kind of sexy are you?"
Sweet 'n' Sexy
You're not overt about your sexuality, but you're not purposely hiding it either — two traits that naturally draw people to you. You possess an understated zest for life, and a way of approaching the day with a can-do attitude that draws people to you. As a teenager, were you maybe a little on the quiet side? Even if you weren't, it's clear that underneath your occasionally understated statements, you have an undeniable sweetness that attracts people who see that special something burning from within.
Is it the way you carry yourself? That quiet sparkle in your eye? Those who know you intimately can't wait to uncover your sweetness. What's hiding behind that innocent smile? A little devil perhaps? A tattoo in a seductive spot saved only for your lover? Possibly, but you're so good, you'll never tell. Or will you?

there is much I should be writing here.. if I can only get my mind wrapped around it... but for the moment...
dance in the dreams of reality, run naked through the wonders of your mind, delight in the passions of forever, and dive deep into the voids of creation, sparking new stars to burn brightly in the night..
